A series of low and side tables inspired by the geometrically pure octahedron / tetrahedron spaceframe, also known as an ‘octet truss.’
The octet truss is frequently employed to achieve large, lightweight spans in buildings and structures, on earth and in space. Here, the principle is maintained and miniaturised to create tables.
A small scale clip-together system (Pico Truss) has been developed for this project. It makes use of high-precision, aluminium and stainless steel components and does not require adhesive. The system offers endless options for different sizes and configurations.
Three standard sizes:
Plexus low large – 900 diameter, 321 high
Plexus low small – 460 diameter, 321 high
Plexus side small – 460 diameter, 460 high
Materials: aluminium, stainless steel, polyester paint, 12mm toughened glass
