Plexus

A series of tables exploring the geometrically pure octahedron / tetrahedron spaceframe, also known as an ‘octet truss.’
The octet truss is frequently employed to achieve large, lightweight spans in buildings and structures, on earth and in space. Here, the principle is maintained and miniaturised to create tables.

A small scale clip-together system (Pico Truss) was developed for this project. It makes use of high-precision, aluminium and stainless steel components without adhesive. The system offers endless options for different sizes and configurations.

Three standard sizes:
  • 900 diameter, 321 high
  • 460 diameter, 321 high
  • 460 diameter, 460 high
